  • A second coaxial cable may be needed if connecting a DVD/media device to the TV.
    • Coaxial cable connectors are available at the UConn Bookstore.

Student:

  • HuskyVision is active in all residence halls.
  • No activation call is necessary. You only need to provide the following:
    • A cable-ready TV. If the TV is not cable ready you will need a cable-ready DVD/media device.
    • A coaxial cable to connect the TV to the HuskyVision faceplate (the faceplate with only a coax outlet).
    • A second coaxial cable may be needed if connecting a DVD/media device to the TV. Coaxial cables are available at the UConn Bookstore.

 Setup

1. Connect the coaxial cable to the HuskyVision faceplate (the faceplate with only one coaxial connection) and the input jack on the cable-ready TV or DVD/media device.

  • If a DVD/media device is being used, connect a second coaxial cable from the DVD/media device to the TV.

2. Ensure the TV and/or DVD/media device is in the appropriate mode(s) to receive cable (usually Cable or TV).

3. Auto-program the TV and/or DVD/media device for the available HuskyVision channels:

  • Enter the on-screen menu for the TV and/or DVD/media device by selecting “setup” or “menu” on the device’s remote control or the device itself.
  • Navigate to and run the Auto-program/Channel Search feature.
    • An auto-program will need to be performed again if there is a power outage, the TV is unplugged, or any connected power strips are shut off.

The TV and/or DVD/media devices should now be able to receive cable. Consult user manuals for all devices if you are unsure how to perform a step. You may also check our Digital TV FAQ page for more suggestions. HuskyVision FAQ’s If further assistance is needed, contact HuskyVision at 486-4357.
